Whether in the Bet Midrash or in their business offices, men in the community enjoy custom tailored individualized learning sessions that enable them to grow on their own level in their Talmudic learning skills as well as in the areas of Shalom Bayit and Mussar/Ethics for a more calm and serene lifestyle. Students returning to L.A from out of town yeshivas benefit from a continuation of the same yeshiva style learning while pursuing their college education. Groups of young professionals seeking to return to Torah observant lifestyles also benefit from TILA’s support, as they are given the affection, attention and time to learn and discuss topics of Judaism they find challenging.
Torah Institute tailors to the spiritual needs of vigorous young professionals who wish to learn the Talmud in the evenings following a busy day at work or college. Whether attending shiurim at TILA or a chaburah, these special men leave the comfort of their home every evening, following a hectic and rigorous day, for the sake of getting together to learn Torah. Not only do they benefit tremendously, but so do their families and all of klal Yisrael
The vision of Torah Institute is to instill a sense of community and comradeship into the youth among us, the future of our nation. To do so, Torah Institute invites these young men on a regular basis for various lectures and social gatherings as well as oneg Shabbat and Mishmar. Opportunities are provided for asking questions regarding all aspects of life and spirituality in a personal and friendly environment. The singing and delicious food enhance these occasions! TILA hosts numerous ladies’ events including lectures regarding taharat hamishpacha, shalom bayit, chagim, and other aspects of a Jewish woman’s daily life. Melaveh malkas and shabbatons help the ladies unite and allow for comfortable open discussions where they can collaborate while enjoying good food and company.
TILA aquaints the young men in L.A with the spiritual giants of Torah who are experts of various branches of halacha and hashkafa. Local speakers as well as those living abroad are invited to speak and inspire the community, whether on a shabbaton or a regular weeknight. Many of these lectures are interactive, allowing for the young men to question and learn so that their thirst for Torah may somewhat be quenched.
Every summer, TILA hosts PROJECT SEED, inviting yeshiva boys from out of town to Los Angeles to learn with the youth of our community
